The Benefits of Dental Implants

Improve Quality of Life:

Function, look, and feel like natural teeth. No more need for denture adhesives. Provides confidence when smiling, speaking, and eating. Restores self-esteem.

Better chewing function:

Stabilizes dentures and make chewing easier. Provides ability to enjoy the foods you love. Better nutrition = Better health.

Improved ability to taste food:

The ability to taste food decreases significantly with upper dentures that cover the palate. Implants help lock-in a denture — the denture no longer needs to cover the roof of the mouth and the ability to taste food is no longer an issue.

Never Decay or Require a Root Canal:

Implants never decay or require a root canal.

Preserves support of facial features to prevent aging:

Collapsing cheeks and lips can age a person 10 –20 years. Since implants preserve bone, your natural facial contours are supported which prevents certain wrinkles.

No impact on adjacent tooth or teeth:

Represents a conservative treatment option — the adjacent teeth are left untouched. If a tooth is ground down, the long term health of the tooth is diminished.

Removable partial dentures are fixed to the remaining teeth and thus transfer their pressure and force to them.  This often damages the remaining teeth and can lead more tooth loss.

High Success Rates for people of any age:

The success rate in healthy patients is about 95%. The success rate in patients with health concerns and/or smokers is about 90%.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?

woman beautiful smileWe can use dental implants to replace one, several, or all of your teeth. They can also be used to anchor bridges or dentures. Good candidates for implants  have healthy gums and have enough bone to support and anchor the implants. However, even if you have lost bone in your jaw, you may still be a good candidate for implants. Dental implants are actually often recommended to prevent further bone loss. If this is the case, bone can actually be added and regrown with grafting procedures as part of the implant process.

Replacing a Single Tooth

If you are missing a single tooth, one implant and a crown can replace it. A dental implant replaces both the lost natural tooth and its root.

Replacing Several or All Teeth

If you are missing several teeth, implant-supported bridges can replace them. Dental implants will replace both your lost natural teeth and some of the roots. If you are missing all of your teeth, an implant-supported full bridge or full denture can replace them. Dental implants will replace both your lost natural teeth and some of the roots.
